Non Member Services
At the AQHA-NZ Executive Meeting
held on Saturday 3rd September the following motion was passed and
comes into effect immediately. From September 3rd 2011 the only
service AQHA-NZ offers to a non member of the association is a Transfer
of Ownership, for all other services a membership is now required
DNA Testing
A reminder to all members "DNA
testing is now a compulsory part of any new horse registration with
AQHA-NZ". The combined DNA testing and registration fee for a horse
up to twelve months of age is $120 inclusive of GST.
Mare Owners
If you are considering breeding
your mare and wish to register the progeny with AQHA-NZ please consider
the following in your choice of Stallion: " The Stallion must be
classified with AQHA-NZ " The Stallion owner must be a member of
AQHA-NZ at the time of breeding

QUARTER HORSE PURCHASER AWARENESS
To those people intending to purchase a Quarter Horse please check
that the ownership on the Registration Papers is in the name of
the person selling the horse to you.
It is becoming increasingly
common for someone purchasing a Quarter Horse to find after the
money has been paid it becomes apparent that the horses Paperwork
is not up to date and the person the horse is being bought from
is NOT the owner shown on the horses Registration Papers.
This means that the ownership of the horse cannot be transferred
to you the purchaser until in fact the person selling the horse
has their name on the Registration Papers as owner.

time to start thinking about which stallion you are going to choose
for your mare, take a look at the fine list of Quarter
Horse stallions available.

You can still advise:
* if a horse is deceased
* if the current owner is incorrect
* if any information is incorrect
Please send this information directly to Jozette Hazeldine at gbstud@farmside.co.nz
There is also an option in the Online Studbook to have a photo
of your horse uploaded. This will display along with the rest of
the horse's details. Please e-mail pictures to Jozette at gbstud@farmside.co.nz
clearly stating horse's name and registration number.
